Letter: We’re in for a bad four years
With Thankgiving just ended, I want to thank our President George W. Bush and our military for seven years of peace in America. I want to thank Bush for gas being $2 a gallon or less.
Because of the Democratic mortgage meltdown and Democratic policies millions of Americans will enjoy the last decent Thankgiving for the next four years.
With the Democrats in control of the White House, Congress and large municipalities, Americans are going to take it in the shorts with higher taxes and fees and mismanaged governments.
Want proof? Look at California and any state or city run by Democrats. I see a third world America on the horizon and the Quislings keep voting these socialists in office. As I travel between Oregon, California and Arizona, I see America disappearing into the sunset.

I’m not even a Democrat, but are you really blaming them for the mortgage crisis? That’s about as typical a move as any, blame the party you don’t like for everything negative in the world. The mortgage crisis was coming, the warning signs were there, no one stepped up. Not Republicans, not Democrats, not even my party. It’s sad that we still have such a partisan line of thought in this country. Maybe that’s why things are going down the toilet, we have people like yourself pointing fingers at the other party for shared failures.
It’s also worth noting that the same governments you note as mismanaged are and were mismanaged before this election ensured a Democratic majority, so I wonder if you’d even acknowledge an improvement if one is made there.
This letter is a response to the letter posted by Mr. Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez, you cannot give Mr. Bush praise for $2 a gallon gas and seven years of peace without also doing so to the legislative branches.
Also, you must recognize we have been and continue to be involved in two wars during those seven years and gas has reached as high as $5 a gallon on that same watch.
Local governments and large municipalities are generally run by elected officials which are non-partisan positions. The mayor’s office is the exception if any. When Democrats take control of the White House in February of 2009, let’s give them a chance. We listen to all this hate radio and fear-mongering, and forget to have faith in our government.
We all appreciate government for protection and programs we need, but we are all quick to not want to pay for those services.
Right now, Wall Street goes up each day the president-elect speaks to the public. Mr. Sanchez, I ask that you remember that the Bible claims God chooses our leaders, and we are to be good workers for the good of our leaders and for each other.
We all seem to like socialist programs like our libraries, schools and parks, but spit the word out like a curse. We need to speak highly of each other and not so negatively. I don’t know you, but I believe you to be a good man. I hope you will think the same of me and for this response to your letter.
