Letter: Watch out for new Messiahs
It seems the news media have all but anointed Obama, fawning over him in foreign lands as if he were president.
It is reported that about 200,000 Germans enthusiastically attended and received Obama’s speech in Berlin. After the speech an attendee was asked about Obama. He replied, “he is my new Messiah.” The last time the Germans were mesmerized by a great orator, it wasn’t the Messiah.
Why should we blindly accept that change will be good? People don’t think they have anything left to lose until they lose it. We complain about the economy, war, etc., but look around: we have a lot to lose, especially freedom. Wisdom would guide us to not gamble all on such an unknown, nor be swept up by false euphoria.
In God we can have every confidence, but of mortal men who would lead we must require proof of their goodness, honesty and wisdom before we deliver ourselves under their power. Beware of elitists who believe they know what’s best for you, and seek power to enforce this belief.

Seems pretty balanced when you take the time to look at what doesn’t get reported at all with regards to John McCain. His miscues go unreported, his changes in position go ignored, his talking points get reported as fact, and now he’s actually tailored his campaign to match fraudulent and libelous e-mails being sent around about his opponent.
He even pulled the biggest load of crap move that the GOP has in the playbook in accusing Obama of attempting to use troops for a political gain…without acknowledging at all that Bush and the Pentagon expressly told the Obama camp not to go. In that case, you’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
And even further, shame on you for even daring to make the comparison between Obama and Hitler. You know, it’s funny, every conservative I encounter seems to think that being popular outside the US isn’t something that is important in a President…well, look at what that’s done for us in the last 8 years, we finally have a candidate that not only is pushing people’s biases to the forefront, testing the truth of the American public’s claims to be post-racism, is wildly popular here in the states, and now we’re finding, is drawing large crowds in Europe as well? Well, that kind of shoots a hole in the criticisms of the foreign policy, doesn’t it? There’s no way that having a respectable leader is a negative.
No matter how you try to spin it.
Would that mean that this person is calling Obama an “elitist that believes they know what’s best for people and that seeks power to enforce it” or God? Either way, Barack Obama does not, in any way, claim to be either. He’s just a man running for president and with people making up things like this he may need more help than he though to become the next president of our country. But people don’t have to listen to my logic… remember, ignorance is bliss.
