Letter: Fond memories of a good friend

On Jan., 27, it had been been 30 years that a good friend of mine, Daniel “Danny” Martinez passed away, and I have a good memories of him when he and I belonged to the Pan-American Club.

I was a member of the Pan-American Club from 1964 thru 1981. He was one of our club presidents during those 17 years that I was a member.

I also have a good memory when we went to Las Vegas in 1972, and also to Hoover Dam, and went down to see all those big generators. Boy, all the good memories. We had a great time.

My wife and I went to see the Debbie Reynolds show. I remember Danny wearing a Green Beret Cap; he and his wife; Lenore, had a good time also. I remember Danny when he used to work at Hal’s Market in the meat department.

Eddie Chapa,
Madera
